Of Red Lion, PA formerly of Upper St. Clair, PA passed away Friday, July 8, 2016, at York Hospital, after a battle with cancer, at the young age of 58. Darlene was born March 7, 1958, in Pittsburgh, PA. Daughter to late James and Gladys Walker; sister of the late Deborah Walker Kania; she is survived by her son and daughter, Justin and Crystal Walker; brothers, James, Timothy, Robert and Edward Walker; sisters, Diana Scarfo, Doreen Walker; best friend, Mary Haberkorn; grandchildren, Trinity, Ethen, Gillian, Gracin, and soon to be baby Walker. Darlene touched the hearts and enriched the lives of many children throughout her career as a Speech and Language Pathologist for Lincoln Intermediate Unit for over 20 years. She was a strong independent woman, who you could not help but notice. She was famous for her dark tan and long fingernails. She loved her son and daughter and their children more than anything else in this world. Her strength and perseverance was a role model for all those who knew her. Jeffrey Edward Bickham, 55

1958-February 8, 2014

Passed away on February 8, 2014 in Houston. Jeff was born in San Tome, Venezuela, the son of Thomas F. Bickham and Celina Conde de Bickham, both of whom preceded him in death. Jeff and his family moved from Venezuela to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1972 and to Houston in 1980. Jeff graduated from Sam Houston State University and the University of Houston Law Center and at the time of his passing was an attorney working in his own private practice. Left to grieve his passing are his wife, Carleen, his children, Brandon, Sydney and Connor, his brothers and sisters, Jonathan, Jacqueline, David, Thomas, Jr., and Jennifer, his aunt, Marcelina Conde de Lopez, his uncle, Salvador Conde, and his cousin, Luis Lopez Conde, and numerous, nieces and nephews, brother and sisters in law, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in the United States, Venezuela and other countries. Visitation will be Monday, February 17, 2014 at 6:00 p.m., with a service at 7:00 p.m., at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive. The funeral service will follow on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., at Grace Presbyterian Church, 10221 Ella Lee at Sam Houston Tollway. Of Gambrills, Maryland, 55 years of age, passed away unexpectedly on October, 22, 2013. Lori was born in Buffalo, New York to Frank and Nancy (Reed) Wittlake. Lori graduated from Upper St. Clair High School in Upper St. Clair, PA. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Penn State University and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition & Hospitality from the University of Alabama. She worked as a registered dietician and was employed by The Johns Hopkins Weight Management Clinic, The University of Maryland and The St. Joseph Medical Center for Eating Disorders. She taught nutrition courses at the Howard County & Anne Arundel County Community Colleges. She has also worked in restaurant management for several local restaurants, and as an agent and customer relations manager in real estate. She is survived by her husband Dr. John H. Wiersema of USDA Agricultural Research Service in Beltsville, MD; daughters Katherine G. and Kelly N. Wiersema, both residing in the New York Metropolitan area; mother Nancy Wittlake of Ocala, FL; sister Susan Wittlake McDowell (Brian) of New Bern, NC; sister Sandra B. Wittlake of Gambrills, MD; niece Molly McDowell of New Bern, NC.

Jeff was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, John Rice. Jeff was an accomplished carpenter and pirate ship builder for 30+ years. Jeff was a hard worker, free spirit, and his light heartedness and sense of humor was infectious to those who had the privilege of knowing him. Age 53, of Upper St. Clair and South Fayette Townships, passed onto his reward for a good life on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at St. Clair Hospital. He was a son of Lois Jean Vodzak and the late Sylvester "Pete" Vodzak; beloved twin of Dennis Vodzak; brother and friend of Bill, Gary (Michelle), Cindy (George) Morgan, and Keith (Debbie); uncle, friend, and mentor of Billy Vodzak; beloved uncle of Kayla and Carly Vodzak, and Tori Morgan; nephew of Edward (Dolly) Vodzak, Irene Kusmira, Robert (Betty) Vodzak, Ann (Larry) Arch, Betty Hofer, Charles (Debbie) Brown, and Bill (Mary Ann) Brown; cousin to many Brown and Vodzak descendents around the country; "Dad" to his yellow Lab, Harley; and friend to everyone. Daryl was someone you just had to love. He was the original good guy with a quick smile and a big heart. There is nothing he wouldn't do to help family members, friends, and the occasional stranger. He was so well known in the south hills area that neither he nor his twin could go anywhere without hearing a "Hey Daryl" He graduated from Upper St. Clair High School in 1976 and went on to a long career of auto body work and construction. Daryl was a lifelong hunter and fisherman who loved to share his passion with both family and friends. He will be missed terribly, but know that all of us are proud to have known and loved him. Steve Mantz, 51

Steve was born on December 23, 1957 in Pittsburgh, PA. Lived in USC. Steve spent a short time in the Army and ended up in Utah in the late 70s. Steve was working in Utah and skiing as much as he could in the winter. On his way home from Lake Powell on Memorial Day in 1982, Steve was ejected from the passenger seat of a friend's car in a single-car roll over accident and he broke his neck. Steve was paralyzed from the neck down due to the accident. He spent the next 26 years in and around Berkeley California, managing his quadriplegic disability by hiring attendants, volunteering at the Berkeley Center for Independent Living, attending Oakland Athletics baseball games and hanging out in Berkeley ... a city that has many outstanding resources for persons with disabilities. Steve passed away on July 3, 2009 from complications due to 26 years of quadriplegia.

Mrs. Ripley, age 48, of Huntersville died Wednesday February 21, 2007 at her residence. Born May 13, 1958 in Ottawa, Canada she was a daughter of Gordon Baxter of Indiana and the late Theresa Baxter. A homemaker, she loved playing the piano, reading, gardening, crocheting and substitute teaching at Lake Norman Charter School. She was a graduate of Upper St. Clair High School Class of 1976, graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA in 1980 and was a member of Skybrook Fellowship.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday February 24 in the Chapel of Raymer Funeral Home with Rev. David Corley and Rev. Tim Watson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.
Sarah had a deep love for her family, friends and Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Robert David Ripley, son, Robert Michael Ripley, daughters, Lauren Elizabeth Ripley and Christine Katherine Ripley all of Huntersville, sisters, Barbara of PA and Karen of MO.

Fort Lauderdale CPA Kimberly Monique Manolas died of cancer at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami on Monday. She was 33.
Ms. Manolas grew up in her native Pittsburgh and was a graduate of Upper St. Clair High School. She moved to South Florida 14 years ago and earned an accounting degree from the University of Miami in 1981.
Her sister, Karen Catalano of Thousand Oaks, Calif., said Ms. Manolas operated her Kimberly Manolas Certified Public Accounting firm out of her Fort Lauderdale home and was planning to rent office space when she discovered she had cancer a short time ago.
Ms. Manolas was active in numerous organizations, including the Broward Women In Network, the Sunshine Wellness Center, Professional Women in Business, the Business and Professional Group of Fort Lauderdale, where she was a membership vice president, and Leadership Hollywood.
In addition to her sister, Ms. Manolas is survived by her mother, Valerie Manolas of Pittsburgh; father, Nicholas of Reddington Shores; a brother, Keith of Pittsburgh; and two other sisters, Shawn Manolas and Stacey Manolas, both of Pittsburgh

Stacey Ann Bradford, born July 17, 1958, died in an auto accident in winter, 1974, approaching her 16th birthday. An unpretentious, yet buoyant soul who exuded considerable beauty, kindness, and understanding, in life she was a light for her friends and family. In death, as an organ donor her eyes brought light into a world of darkness for two persons; and in dreams she has been an inspiration for her brother's life. Her parents started a college scholarship in her name at Westminster Church, and she is survived by many dear friends of the class of '76, her grateful parents and devoted brother, Ken, USC class of '72.
